The 2020 Northwest Dharma Celebration is being offered online, welcoming everyone in the Pacific Northwest to join fellow meditators to receive a blessing empowerment, listen to teachings, and meditate together, all focused on compassion.

During this meaningful weekend, Gen Kelsang Rigpa, Western US National Spiritual Director, will grant the empowerment of Avalokiteshvara, Buddha of Compassion. Through receiving Avalokiteshvara’s blessings and engaging in his meditation practice, the minds of universal love and compassion will grow and, eventually, we will become just like the Buddha of Compassion.

Following the empowerment, during which we make a strong connection with Avalokiteshvara’s mind and receive his compassionate blessings, Gen Rigpa will explain the meditation practice of Avalokiteshvara. These teachings encompass tried-and-true Buddhist methods for increasing our own compassion. Through this, we will find the power to grow our compassion day by day. The compassion we develop overcomes all obstacles, gives us the courage to help those around us, and makes our life very meaningful.

Whether new to Buddhism or an experienced practitioner, all are welcome to attend this joyous spiritual event and become a source of strength for themselves and others.
